Greenhouse gas emissions(GHGs)

Scientists around the world are in agreement that the earth's climate is warming and the primary cause is human activity, particularly activity that increases the resence and cencentrations of gases in the atmosphere that are known as greenhouse gases(GHGs).

Six gases have been identified as significant GHGs, they include:

Human activities are making massive changes in global atmospheric chemistry. Since the dawn of the industrial revolution 250 years ago, carbon dioxide has increased in the atmosphere by 31%, methane by 151% and nitrous oxide by 17%. And we have made new chemicals such as chlorofluoro carbons that are powerful greenhouse gases, not to mention ozone depleters.
