The Pest Management Information Service is a federal government initiative
to provide information on pesticide regulation and
registered pesticides. The service has been available to Canadians since its
launch in 1984, and operates under the auspices of Health Canada’s Pest
Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA). The PMRA regulates the import into,
sale and use of pesticides in Canada, at the federal level.
A team of Information Officers is available to respond to inquiries about the federal pesticide registration process in Canada, federal regulations, Canada’s initiatives in the area of pesticides, and pesticide labelling and safety precautions. The officers respond to inquiries from all sectors of Canadian society including individuals, growers, all levels of government, the pesticide industry and the media.
