Endocrine Disruption

In recent years concern has grown over chemicals released into the environment that have the potential to disrupt the endocrine systems of animals. Endocrine disruption can result in adverse affects on the reproductive system, and can also hinder growth and development. Even at very low levels endocrine disruptors can have adverse biological impacts.

The range of substances that can cause endocrine disruption is very broad, and science has not yet positively identified all the chemicals that are disruptors. However, it is certain that many pesticides are endocrine disruptors, and that many more have the potential to be.
